Some Music I’ve Made
Searching for the nighttime
Something I might like
With you
I don’t see a stop sign (stop, stop, stop)
Keep going I might find (nothing there to find)
You
Crawling down a hopeless well
How can I expect
Much else
This is a song I made so long ago, probably around a year. At some point when I was working on it, my computer started bugging hard and ever since then the Ableton file for this song has absolutely no sound and I get confused too easily to try and figure out how to fix it lol. Thankfully I had a mp3 of it saved on my phone. I still really like this song, I can just never mix it and the risers are stupid I think. On top of that, this song feels isolated to a very specific time in my life that I no longer have access to emotionally; even if I could make changes to it, I don’ t think I would.
I’ve made a god
Of a feeble man
I thought I’d stay
Until I bit the hand that fed me
Running on fumes
Like the things you’d say
It’s hard to think
I couldn’t run anyway
Mirage
You’re a mirage
A golden crown
I see now, painted rust
A golden cow
Slaughtered again
Running on fumes
Like the things you’d say
Its hard to think
I couldn’t run anyway
Mirage
You’re a mirage
This is a song I started working on this summer during a truly treacherous breakup, I just recently finished the lyrics for it. I’ve never been too good at guitar but I like the lyrics and melody I came up with, though some of the melody was improvised in this particular instance. This audio was originally part of a video but my singing stank face is just tooooooo stanky, I couldn’t be caught on mcbackpack like that. But that is why the audio is a bit funky. Anyways. I’ll probably keep working on it when I get back to campus.
Even though I know not many people are actively keeping up with mcbackpack other than… well Montana and I, it still feels nice to post my thoughts and my/our music on here. It’s not necessarily about other people hearing me, though I do, as everyone, like to be heard and seen. I think it’s more having a middle ground between a journal or notes app (where my thoughts or things I have written will literally never see the light of day), and social media or official release of music which is sometimes too public and/or too temporary or mutable. I am very grateful to have started mcbackpack with Montana.
